Faith is not Positive Thinking

Today, I am borrowing some thoughts from the late Dr. Adrian Rodgers. as I read these words, I felt inclined to share them.

Romans 10:11 (HCSB) - "Now the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on Him will not be put to shame"

Many people think that faith is the same thing as positive thinking. But faith is a whole lot more than that.

Certainly, it will help you to think positively. There's nothing the least bit wrong with having an upbeat, optimistic perspective on things. In fact, it is healthy to do so. But there is no power inherent in positive thinking. It doesn't come with built-in authority and strength.

The reality of biblical faith in Romans 10:11 is that we are to believe on Him. Your faith is no better than your object.

Today, join me in pondering whether I work by Positive Thinking, or by holding faith in the right object - Jesus Christ.
