A Lost Art

"For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?" Romans 11:34 (KJV)

I write some of these blogs ahead of time. This is one that I have pondered in the past, and I am now sharing with you today.

People today in most churches focus upon the study of anthropology - the study of man. We seem to be more concerned with subjects such as church growth, the end times, signs, gifts, miracles than what should be our main focus. The main focus of a Christian should be the Theology - the study of God.

The other topics are important, but our main thing that should stay the main thing is to study God. As we grasp the majesty and magnitude of the Creator God, the One who spoke everything into existence - all other things fall into place. Theology humbles the mind, expands the soul, and consoles the heart. When our mind spends time on other subjects we feel self-contentment and think about how wise we are. When we truly study God, we come away realizing that there is nothing that can equal Him. We begin to see ourselves in proper perspective.

In an age that promotes human wisdom and human supremacy, it is not a bad thing to muse over the fact that there is One who is far greater. Today, focus on God - not on man.
