Altered States

November 24

Daily Bible Reading: Ezekiel 32 – 33

Verse of the Day: Ezekiel 33:31 – “And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but do them not; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their gain.”

We live in a day and time when people in general seek to alter their theology instead of altering their lives. We seek to change the basis of our beliefs so that in turn we can justify our way of living. By reading the Bible through the lens of our society and culture instead of viewing our society and culture through the lens of the Bible, we can mostly eliminate any feelings of guilt or remorse over our actions.

God has given us the purpose, plan, and parameters of life in His Word. We should seek to adjust our lives and our society to follow His design, rather than seeking to design His plan around our desires and destinations.

Prayer: Father, guide me to walk as You have deemed, not as I demand. Amen.
