Open the lines of Communication

April 19

Daily Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 27 – 29

Verse of the Day: 1 Samuel 28:6 – “And when Saul inquired of Jehovah, Jehovah answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.”

As we approach the end of First Samuel, we sadly see the results of Saul’s continual sin and disobedience to God. His constant lack of trust in God has brought him to the point of no return. As he is faced with the armies of the Philistines, he seeks word about how to fight the battle. But, the Lord does not communicate with him – he is left on his own. In our reading today, since Saul has lost all touch with God seeks out a medium to get him the information he needs.

Today, let us pause and check our own lives. How is our prayer-connection with the Father? Is there sin garbling the connection? Confess and get right with God today – before it is too late.

Prayer: Father, today I come making sure the line of communication is clear. Amen.
