Day 18: Jesus is all we need

John 3:30 “He must increase, but I must decrease.”

The philosopher Alfred North Whitehead said, “Look for truth,
and you will run straight into Jesus Christ.” The majority of our
problems as Christians come because we allow ourselves to be
distracted by petty, insignificant matters and fail to focus on Jesus.
Jesus should be the person after whom we model our lives – not
some rock or movie star, not some athlete and not even our pastor.
We must be transformed in His image, saturated with His words
and promises, and reflect His goodness, mercy, love, forgiveness,
kindness, compassion and patience.
Until we realize that Jesus is all we need, we will continue to
look for truth in all the wrong places. This happens too often in
believer’s lives and in the church in America. Only when we submit
ourselves to His will and His standards will we become less and
less, and will He become greater and greater. That has to happen if
revival and awakening is to ever come to America.

Prayer Points
   • As you pray, concentrate on the character of Jesus Christ, and ask
the Father to make you more like Him
   • Pray that the church in America will become like Jesus
