Today at 12:57 pm, we celebrate the official start of Spring. Ah, spring! This season brings increasing daylight, warming temperatures, and the rebirth of flora and fauna. It is officially designated as the Vernal Equinox.
The word equinox is derived from the Latin words meaning
“equal night.” Days and nights are approximately equal everywhere and
the Sun rises and sets due east and west. At the equinoxes, the tilt of Earth relative to the Sun is zero,
which means that Earth’s axis neither points toward nor away from the
Sun. (However, the tilt of Earth relative to its plane of orbit, called
the ecliptic plane, is always about 23.5 degrees.)
Spring is also the time when worms begin to emerge from the earth,
ladybugs land on screen doors, green buds appear, birds chirp, and
flowers begin to bloom. The vernal, or spring, equinox signals the
beginning of nature’s renewal in the Northern Hemisphere.
Yesterday, I spoke about rain. Today, I want to talk about rebirth. As we watch the trees, grass, and flowers come back to life, it looks like they are reborn into this world. The Bible speaks about man needing a rebirth - or the need to be born again. Consider as a person accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, what takes place. To understand the truth of this matter, we must understand that "It's in the Bible!"
