National Day of Prayer Points - 5

REVERENCE, RESPONSE, REQUESTS, READINESS, and that brings us to the last point - REVERENCE.

"[For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.] Matthew 6: 13 (HCSB).

Many versions drop this last sentence. But, as we consider it, it does bring us full circle in our prayers.

We began by seeing that the focus of our prayers should be on God. When we focus upon Him, we see that our response will be to defer to His will when we make our requests. We will seek to be ready to be a part of His plan. When all of this comes to be - the circle is completed by focusing on God. Everything that we pray is made possible by the Kingdom, power, and glory of God Himself. Take a moment today to read David's prayer in 1 Chronicles 29: 11 -13.

This week, as we have thought about the lesson on prayer that Jesus gave, I pray that this has challenged you to dig deeper and to strengthen your prayer-life.
