Sometimes No

Greetings:

Sometimes we pray and pray ------

And it seems that God doesn’t listen, or He says No. Those are the hard times of prayer. Getting the Yes’s are always so much more enjoyable. Nevertheless, I have learned that we often need to be thankful for the No’s.

Garth Brooks had a song about thanking God for unanswered prayers. In it is the line – “Just because He doesn’t answer doesn’t mean He don’t care. Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.”

One such prayer was uttered in Gethsemane – by Jesus for the Father to remove the cup from Him. I thank God on a daily basis that that prayer was not answered in the affirmative. If it was – I would still be lost.

Let us learn to rejoice when God says No.
