Isaiah 9:6 (ESV) - "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Italics added)
Do you recognize Jesus as אֵ֣ל גִּבֹּ֔ור? No, that isn't gibberish written here, it is the Hebrew for El-gibbor or as we see it in our passage - Mighty God. Wonderful things happen to those who recognize who He is. Those who refuse to recognize Him have shut the spiritual door of their life.
Jesus is the Mighty God to answer our prayers. He is the Mighty God to overcome our bad habits. He is the Mighty God to give peace in the midst of the storm you are going through. He is Mighty God to give strength to resist temptation. He is Mighty God to change us from the inside out. He is the Mighty God who takes our sins and gives us His righteousness. He is the originator of the extreme makeover - He will make us new.
Muse today over the fact that if you have received Jesus Christ as your personal savior, He has changed you from the inside out. How much of the inward change are you allowing to show on your outside? Let the Mighty God, the El-gibbor, the אֵ֣ל גִּבֹּ֔ור to shine through. Acknowledge Him as the Mighty God of your life.
