Have you stopped to think about the impact of calling God your Father? It is not a name or a title - it is a statement of a highly personal relationship.
When you became a child of God, you were adopted into a very special relationship. You were no longer an alien or an enemy with God, you are now a part of His family. He adopted you in His mercy - so that you no longer face judgment or punishment for your disobedience. He adopted you to love you, protect you, and provide for you. He will guide you. He is the God of all comfort, and that is because He is the Father of mercies.
Ponder and consider that you are now (if you are a believer) in an intimate relationship with the Father - Creator God - and He is your heavenly Father. Listen to what Paul said about this in 2 Corinthians 1:3 (LEB) - "Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort...."
