Greetings:
“…if service, in service; if teaching, in teaching;” Romans 12:7.
I pray that each of you feel the gift of teaching. You have been called by God to be a part of MCS – to impart knowledge and life skills to young people. The first use of teaching in this passage means to discharge the duty of instructing someone else. It is the position of a teacher, an instructor, a pedagogue, a – well you get the idea.
The second word (from the same root) means that which is taught, or doctrine. When we think of the word doctrine sometimes we carry a negative connotation. The word means the system of information that one learns. So history has doctrine, math has doctrine, English has doctrine – all of the subject matters we teach are doctrine.
Tomorrow – a different thought. We will contemplate the remaining four gifts next week.
When God called you to teach at MCS, he equipped you to be the best there is. What have you done with what He has given you? Ponder today what God has given you, and what you have done with it.
For Kingdom Education,
Doc
