Dry Bones and God's Promises

November 26

Daily Bible Reading: Ezekiel 36 – 37

Verse of the Day: Ezekiel 37:3 – “And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord Jehovah, thou knowest.”

A valley of dry bones becomes the stage for this vision that God gives to the prophet Ezekiel. Scattered. Brittle. Unorganized. Disconnected. Bleached. Unusable.

God will lead Ezekiel to witness as He causes the bones to come together, regain flesh, and be restored to life. Imagine, this mess of bones becomes a mighty army under the Words of God. This picture shows that God will keep His promise to re-gather, restore and revive His people. God’s promises are true and faithful, even when all looks impossible in this day.

Today, muse over the impossibilities in your life – and trust the promises of God to restore and revive those He has re-gathered.

Prayer: God of Ezekiel, I trust You to keep Your promises even when I cannot see how. You are beyond my thoughts. Amen.
