You used who?

November 8

Daily Bible Reading: Jeremiah 49 - 50

Verse of the Day: Jeremiah 50:1 – “The word that Jehovah spake concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by Jeremiah the prophet.”

Jeremiah ends his message from God to the nations with Babylon. Yes, God uses Babylon to bring chastisement on His wayward and errant people. We often find it hard to believe that God will use a pagan and sinful nation to do His work, but even when He does, He does not excuse them for their sin and disobedience.

God will use Babylon to bring this punishment on Israel, but when they have accomplished what He desires, He will turn His anger and judgment on them.

God loves us so much that He will use all means to correct us as His children.

Prayer: Loving Heavenly Father, even when I can’t understand the ways and reasons of your chastening, I can trust You are doing this for my ultimate blessing and good. Amen.
