He says what He means, and means what He says.

Daily Bible Reading: Ezekiel 24 – 26

Verse of the Day: Ezekiel 24:1 – “Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,”

This is the fourth time that Ezekiel has given a precise chronological record of his warnings (1:2 - 3: 8:1; 20:1). The date given here is January 588 B.C. This is the day that Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon, started his attack on Jerusalem. God commanded him to write down this date to be a reminder to those who read it of God’s trustworthiness to do what He has disclosed through His prophets.

When we consider this, it can be both negative (as in the destruction of the nation) and positive (such as the prophecies of the Coming Messiah). What God has declared, He will do.

Prayer: Trustworthy and Faithful Father, as I read Your promises, I can be assured that You say what You mean, and You mean what You say. Amen.
