"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Matthew 5:6 (CSB)
So, what is the reward for Hungering and Thirsting after God?
We will be filled.
Notice that Jesus promises a lasting satisfaction. The word He
uses here for filled- "chortazesthai" means to be stuffed to the
point of contentment.
It’s that word that would describe us when we say, “I can’t
eat another bite.”
So, this is no temporary filling, Jesus is promising complete
and full satisfaction.
And yet there are so many people, some reading this right now,
that are discontented with life, who are not satisfied.
For some, they just don’t know how to seek Him
If you make happiness your goal, you’ll miss it. Genuine joy
isn’t found by looking for it, it’s given to you when you find God
We are to have a strong passionate desire for intimacy with
God. We can develop this by Reading the Bible and Prayer. Two things you
need to do every day – Read Your Bible and Pray.
These first four Beatitudes are Inward
Attitudes. The next steps He will show
are Outward Actions.
