Daily Bible Reading: Leviticus 15 – 17
Verse of the Day: Leviticus 14:57 – “And Aaron shall present the bullock of the sin-offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself, and for his house.”
Over half of the uses of the word atonement in Scriptures are found in Leviticus 16. The Hebrew word kâphar is best translated to cover or reconciliation. It is first used when Noah is told to “cover” the Ark with pitch (Genesis 6:14).
When as a Christian we hear of another Christian’s failure or sin, we should be quick to forgive and forget. We should seek to “reconcile” them with God. We need to follow Christ’s example to build up the fallen one – instead we often seek to spend our time in gossip about them.
Gossip or reconciliation – which shows what God has done for us? We need to show the world a better way to love.
Prayer: Father, help me today to help restore and reconcile those who are fallen. Amen.
