Daily Bible Reading: Exodus 31 – 33
Verse of the Day: Exodus 32:1 – “And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.”
Generally, as human beings we are impatient. We live in a world that demands “instant.” We tend to pray, “Give me patience and give it to me NOW!”
The Israelites give glimpses into the direction that our impatience can take. They grew restless waiting and took things into their own hands. They created their own answer to their waiting – and in turn this lead to disaster.
We need to learn from the examples from the Bible even today (1 Cor. 10:11). Waiting is hard, but not waiting on God can be disastrous.
Prayer: Gracious God, help me to wait patiently for You – You always come through. Amen.
