Christmas Symbols - The Greatest Gift

TEXT:  2 Corinthians 9:15  “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”

Each of the symbols we see at Christmas can help us to discover and learn about the wonderful message of Christmas. They help us to return our focus to the true meaning of this season. God the Son stepped from eternity into time and space. He came to deliver mankind from the chains of sin, and He did this by taking on human flesh and dying for us. So let’s see what we can learn today –

Our symbol today is the Greatest Gift. What can we learn from this symbol?

What do you say when you receive a gift? Usually, we would say “Thank You.” I heard about an employer who stopped giving Christmas Bonuses because his employees were always complaining about the size.

Dr. Elmer Towns says, “Gratitude is the least remembered of all virtues, and is the acid test of character.”

The Wisemen gave expensive gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. But they pale in comparison to the Great Gift that the Father gave to us.

FOr God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son (John 3:16).

When you think about gifts this Christmas, remember to have gratitude for the greatest Gift ever given.
