Regression

June 3

Daily Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 10 – 12

Verse of the Day: 2 Chronicles 12:14 – “ And he did that which was evil, because he set not his heart to seek Jehovah.”

As we see the various Kings recorded by the Chronicler, we need to ponder over the differences that we see in them.

Comparing David, Solomon, and Rehoboam notice that David was a man of God and died at a very old age with riches and honor attached to his name. Solomon died as a wise, rich and powerful King. He started strong and faltered in the end. Rehoboam did not seek to follow God at all.

We see a downward regression within the Kings. David strong, Solomon slow regression, and finally Rehoboam in complete denial of God.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we pray to You to stem the tide of regression in our lives and in our country’s life. Father, we seek to be like David and not like Rehoboam. Amen.
