Daily Bible Reading: Ezra 1 – 2
Verse of the Day: Ezra 1:3 – “Whosoever there is among you of all his people, his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of Jehovah, the God of Israel (he is God), which is in Jerusalem.”
The first six chapters of Ezra deal with the rebuilding of the Temple of God in Jerusalem, the last four chapters deal in the area of the restoration of His people. So, you can see Ezra covering the restoration and revival of the nation.
Ezra continues the account of 2 Chronicles in that it shows us the fulfillment of God’s promise of restoring the people to their land. In the Hebrew Bible, Ezra and Nehemiah is one book. The combined narrative presents the story of the exiles return in two phases.
Prayer: Majesty in Heaven, as we study these accounts, may we be strengthened and encouraged to follow You and trust You in all of Your promises. Amen.
