Daily Bible Reading: 1 John 3
Verse of the Day: 1 John 3:1 – “Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this cause the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”
The Apostle John stands in grand amazement at the love of God. The Apostle often referred to himself as the disciple whom Jesus loved (John 13:23) had a close relationship with the Savior. He was called a Son of Boanerges (Son of Thunder) by Jesus early on, and later was known as the Disciple of Love. He has become an example of the change that happens when a person allows Jesus into their life. We get a glimpse of the power of the love of God in John, and he can only stand in awe and amazement.
Are you a child of God? If you are, the very wonder of His love should overwhelm you. We are privileged to be called His children and receive His love.
Prayer: I stand in awe of Your great and marvelous love. It is overwhelming to be Your chosen child. Father, thank You.
