Where is Your Faith?

December 6

Daily Bible Reading: 1 John 5

Verse of the Day: 1 John 5:13 – “These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, even unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God.”

The phrase used here “These things” refer us back to verses 11 and 12. John wrote, “And the witness is this, that God gave unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath the life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not the life.”

We can have assurance of our salvation by trusting in the Word of God that our salvation comes by God’s Son, Jesus the Christ. Those who have put their trust in Jesus can rest assured that they have salvation because God says that we have it.

Where is your faith? In yourself? In words, deeds, or actions? In your church, your baptism, your dogma? Only faith in Jesus as Savior can provide salvation. Jesus plus anything else does not equal salvation.

Prayer: Jesus I trust in You and You alone. You are where I place my faith and trust. Amen.

“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!” (Philippians 2:5-8)  listen to chapter  (Read by Max McLean.
