Daily Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 1 – 3
Verse of the Day: 2 Chronicles 1:7 – “In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.”
Can you imagine God offering you a blank check? Just fill it out – whatever you want. What would you ask for? What would be your heart’s desire – riches, fame, power, prestige, any number of things could come to mind.
Solomon was offered this by God on the night of his inauguration. Solomon went to the tabernacle to worship, and God met him there. Solomon asked for wisdom and knowledge to lead the people. And because of this request, God also gave to Solomon other gifts. God gave Solomon great wisdom and knowledge. He gave him the ability to put this wisdom and knowledge to work. God gave Solomon the ability to use his wisdom and knowledge in creative ways that lasted, and also He gave him great riches and fame.
Prayer: Gracious God, give me the wisdom to know what to ask You for today. Amen.
