Unselfish People

October 6

Daily Bible Reading: Philippians 2

Verse of the Day: Philippians 2:3 – 4 – “doing nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself; not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.”

Have you ever noticed how that people who affect us the most are those who pay least attention to themselves. They constantly notice the needs of others and seek to reach out and help. They carry an honest concern for us.

These are the people who we rarely hear them say “I”’ “me”, “my”, or “mine”. They generally speak about “we”, “you”, etc. We often come across those who are selfish, and draw close to those who are unselfish.

So, do we find people drawing close to us? Is it because we are unselfish, or self-centered? Ponder it today, and seek God for the right way to be with people.

Prayer: Jesus, I know that You gave all for me, now may I give for others. True joy comes from being unselfish and concerned for others.
