Walking the Walk

October 14

Daily Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 2

Verse of the Day: 1 Thessalonians 2:13 – “to the end that ye should walk worthily of God, who calleth you into his own kingdom and glory.”

There is always room for improvement in this life. That is true in our Christian walk. Too often we can find ourselves (at least subconsciously) assuming that we have arrived.

We need to heed Paul’s admonitions that we continue to grow in areas of love for each other. We need to be aware of our short-comings in our lives, our need to seek after a desire that our hearts be blameless in holiness.

And this walk is not only in our outward appearances before men, but in our very heart observed only by God. Until we stand in His Presence one day, we will never “have arrived.” So, constantly watch our walk, and tame our talk. Let Him take charge today.

Prayer: Righteous Father, I want to walk in a worthy manner before You. You have called me, saved me, and equipped me to walk the walk and talk the talk. I am Yours forever.
