Daily Bible Reading: Hosea 5 -8
Verse of the Day: Hosea 8:7a – “For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind:”
Sometimes we face some very heavy troubles. Troubles can come because of we live in a sinful world. Sometimes they come because of what others have chosen as their lifestyle. Sometimes they come as trials and temptations. And, sometimes they come because of our own choices. We choose to disobey God, and then when the consequences happen, we wonder why they are so hard.
As Charles Stanley says, in the law of sowing and reaping we always reap what we sow, later than we sow, in greater abundance than what we sowed. In this passage, we see God declaring that the disobedient sowed the wind – they reaped the whirlwind. Repentance will bring us forgiveness, but sometimes we must go through the chastening to be made clean.
Prayer: Father, forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me and use me in your service. Amen.
