Daily Bible Reading: Hosea 1 - 4
Verse of the Day: Hosea 4: 1 – “Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.”
Todays’ reading is a warning from God to the nation of Israel about their idolatry. In this book, we find a strange relationship between Hosea and Gomer his wife. This is an example for the message that God is calling out to His people. The full message of this book is the redeeming love of God. He lists the indictment against Israel, but demonstrates His unceasing love for His people, and the ultimate restoration of those who are His.
Taking this message to heart today, we can see that God still holds us responsible for our living according to His ways, but He is a great, loving Father who will restore us to fellowship if we respond as He leads.
Prayer: Heavenly, loving Father, we have sinned – restore us in your grace through your Son, Jesus. Amen.
