Surviving the test

December 5

Daily Bible Reading: Daniel 5 - 6

Verse of the Day: Daniel 6:4 – “Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel as touching the kingdom; but they could find no occasion nor fault, forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.”

Can this be said of me? You? Basically, we are faced with two major challenges in life – prosperity or adversity. Which one is the hardest? Prosperity.

It seems that when we become prosperous in life subtle temptations sneak in. In adversity, the main thing is survival. In prosperity it is whether we will maintain our integrity.

The rulers in Babylon could not find anything that they could use against Daniel – he had maintained his integrity through all the advancements and prosperity. He had an excellent attitude, privately pure, trustworthy in all things, and a consistent walk with God. Can this be said of me? You?

Prayer: I want to be a true person of God, humble in full integrity. Make it so, God. Amen.
