Daily Bible Reading: Daniel 7 - 8
Verse of the Day: Daniel 8:1 – “In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me, Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.”
The Hebrew word châzôn, a common word for a dream or vision comes from the root meaning “to see.” The ancients often recognized dreams and visions as message from the “gods.” The Hebrews understood them to be from the One true God. Daniel receives such a vision with many coded symbols that took the Angel Gabriel to interpret and untangle.
In Proverbs we are reminded that revelation from God is a primary essential for any society. Without God’s law as He revealed to us in the Scriptures the very fabric of society would crumble.
Prayer: God of all vision, we need to see and hold to Your revelation for us as individuals and for society. What You have delivered to us is made clear in the person of Your Son. As we look at Your Word (Scripture and Jesus) may we walk in Your way. Amen.
