Can I lose it?

November 2

Daily Bible Reading: Titus 3

Verse of the Day: Titus 3:5 – 7 – “not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour; that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

Consider this, can we lose the free gift of salvation? No way! If we had to work for it, then we could lose it. In fact, if we worked for it then it is not a gift, we had earned it.

We miss the mark when we turn the free gift of God’s grace into a wage that we have earned. (By the way missing the mark is what the Greek word that we translate to mean sin). If we could work, how much do we have to do? And then, how little do we need to do to lose it? Enjoy, it is a gift that we can’t lose.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for the gift of salvation, the precious grace given by faith to those of us who chose to believe. I am thankful that it doesn’t rest upon me or my acts.
