Daily Bible Reading: Hebrews 6
Verse of the Day: Hebrews 6:4 – 6 – “For as touching those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come, and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.”
Some use this passage to refute the concept of eternal security. They teach you can lose your salvation and gain it back again. However, if you read the passage closely you see that it says if one could lose their salvation, it would be impossible for them to gain salvation again.
We can be encouraged that the truth is, our salvation is not our doing, and Jesus did everything necessary for our salvation. And, because of this, we can count on Him to hold and maintain our position in Him. He holds me, not me holding Him. And He won’t let go.
Prayer: Jesus hold me tight, I am trusting totally in You for my Eternal future. Thank You for doing what I couldn’t and can’t do. Amen.
