Daily Bible Reading: Hebrews 7
Verse of the Day: Hebrews 7:25 – “Wherefore also he is able to save to the uttermost them that draw near unto God through him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
The word translated “uttermost” is from the Greek word παντελες which can be translated “completely.” It is speaking of a complete or whole salvation.
This verse is in the present tense and means that Jesus Christ is presently interceding before the Father for any and all who will come to Him. Our justification is a once-for-all event, yet on a daily (hourly) basis, Jesus is involved in the continuing process of our sanctification.
We come to the Cross once, but we come to the Savior constantly for continuous cleansing and forgiveness.
Prayer: Jesus, I thank You for Your continuous standing by the Father interceding for me. I am a sinner saved by Grace, but I constantly need your prayers for my continued relationship with the Heavenly Father. Amen.
