Ask seek knock

January 8

Daily Bible Reading: Matthew 7

Verse of the Day: Matthew 7:7 – 8 – “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

Ask, seek, knock. Receive, find, open. Sounds simple enough. If we ask , seek, knock, we find receive, find, open.

As we muse over this section today, and as we ponder the depth of what Jesus is saying in our verses, I believe we can see that prayer is not complex, complicated, or beyond us. It is actually very simple. Prayer is simply talking to God as we would with others around us.

With a personal relationship with Him, we come as children to a Father with our requests. We come and seek His will for the desires of our heart, and then as a child trusts that their Dad can meet those needs, God will meet our needs.

Prayer: Father, as Your child I bring my needs to You today. I trust Your answer. Amen.
