Daily Bible Reading: Matthew 14:1 – 21
Verse of the Day: Matthew 14:20 – “And they all ate, and were filled: and they took up that which remained over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full.”
In this particular miracle, we can lose sight of an important concept given here. What is that you say? It is the fact that Jesus is enough!
We find the disciples and Jesus teaching 5,000 men plus women and children (some say this may have been as many as 20,000 people). When it comes time to eat, where would they ever find supplies enough to feed this crowd? Jesus knew – the need could and would be filled by Him.
Notice, he provide food for all these people, they ate until they were full, and there was still a large supply left over. Jesus is enough. Got it? JESUS IS ENOUGH.
Prayer: Jesus, there are times when I am not sure that You can fill the needs that I have. My lack of faith is the reason that I often worry and lack to see You provide what I need. I need to trust You more. Amen.
