Daily Bible Reading: Matthew 18:21 – 35
Verse of the Day: Matthew 18:35 – “So shall also my heavenly Father do unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts.”
Have you ever really stopped to think about how much God has forgiven you? I don’t mean a surface check, but a deep down, gut level realization of what God has done in forgiving you?
His forgiveness cost Jesus His life. He died for us physically and spiritually to restore us to the Father. In celebration of the magnitude of what God has done, we should be the first to forgive others. Forgive and forget an action that a spouse, friend, or neighbor has done against you. In comparison, what they have done in minuscule to what God has forgiven us.
Today, if you harbor ill feelings or refusal to forgive someone, compare with God’s forgiveness – and let it go. Forgive and forget.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for taking my sin and my shame. Thank You for making me right with the Father. Help me to forgive others.
