Daily Bible Reading: Joshua 4 – 6
Verse of the Day: Joshua 6:1 – “Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.”
The mighty city of Jericho, considered invincible at that time was locked up tight. The nation of Israel had crossed over a flood-stage Jordan River and was now camped just down from the city. Jericho heard of what the God of Israel had been doing for His people. And the word of God’s watch care and provision for Israel caused fear in these normally well-protected people. They had shut and barred all entrances and settled in for a long siege. But God had a different idea. As our reading today shows that God can open the strongholds before us and give us the victory. Just trust and follow His leading. Do what He says and He will fight the battles in our lives for us.
Prayer: Majestic Warrior we trust our battles into Your hands. We look for Your victory in our lives. Amen.
