Daily Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 26 – 27
Verse of the Day: Deuteronomy 27:10 – “Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of Jehovah thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.”
God taught the Israelites of the blessings and curses that would befall upon them – based upon their choice. If they followed, obeyed, and displayed God they would receive the whole list of blessing He described. However, if they chose to rebel, disobey, and not show forth God – they would receive the curses He also described.
Notice, blessing or curse – it was freely their choice. The same is true for us today. If we choose to follow, obey and display God in our lives, He will bless us. If we choose the opposite, He will allow us to face the consequences. Today, the choice is yours, what will you choose?
Prayer: Granter of our freedom, help me to choose to receive the blessings. Amen.
