Daily Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 10
Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 10:4 – 5 – “(for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds); casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;”
We are in a daily battle. There is a grand war raging, and we are soldiers in it. The problem is that we spend too much time fighting a physical war while the battle is in the realm of the spiritual.
Paul well understood that the real battle was not with those around him, but with the spiritual concepts and teachings. In our passage today he reminds us to get our eyes off the horizontal and place it on the vertical. We need to get away from the human viewpoint and face the eternal issues.
Prayer: Jesus, I spend too much time fighting the physical battles while I need to focus on the spiritual war against the souls of men. Help me focus on what is important.
