Dreamer Joseph

January 15

Daily Bible Reading: Genesis 36 – 37

Verse of the Day: Genesis 37:5 – “And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.”

We are starting to read the accounts about Joseph. As you read these chapters over the next week, pause and seek the beauty of the teachings God has for us.

We remember Joseph for the many dreams that God used throughout his life. Dreams that established who he would become, dreams of the Butler and Baker, dreams of Pharaoh – all that steered his life in God’s plan.

Joseph is a wonderful type of Jesus Christ. His father’s favorite son, sold as a slave, lived a very blameless life, and all without hatred or seeking retaliation. Forgiveness is rampant in his life.

Prepare your minds and hearts as you read these chapters to be challenged by God to live a life like Joseph.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, open my heart and eyes to You in these chapters. Amen.
