God's Perfect Timing

January 18

Daily Bible Reading: Genesis 42 – 43

Verse of the Day: Genesis 42:6 – “And Joseph was the governor over the land; he it was that sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves to him with their faces to the earth.”

From the dreamer to the slave to the prisoner to the governor of Egypt. These chapters have shown us the up and downs of Joseph’s life. As a 17 year old, he dreamed of his family and others bowing to him. Now, almost four decades later, we see the dream being fulfilled. God’s plan may take longer than what we think is necessary, but it is always right. Never too early, never too late, but always right on His schedule.

Today, if you seem to have been waiting for so long to get God’s answer, remember how over and over God has shown us that He will always finish His promises to us. Think on Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David, and so many others.

Prayer: Father, help me to be patient and wait for Your good timing. Amen.
