Grumble, grumble, grumble

August 29

Daily Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:1 – 13

Verse of the Day: 1 Corinthians 10:10 – “Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.”

Have you ever stopped to consider how often you may grumble and complain? The word used for murmur means to have a complaining attitude, to speak negatively. Maybe it is because of a boring job. Or maybe you are picking up behind your kids (or husband) for the nth time. Maybe you are complaining about needing to take out the garbage again.

Consider that instead of complaining and griping, do it with a thankful heart. Be thankful that you have a job (many do not), that you have those kids (or husband), and that you are blessed to have enough that you actually have trash to take out.

Prayer: God of all Provision, thank You that I have so many things and people in my life. Thank You that I have the strength to work and to do household chores. I am so grateful for all the many blessings that You have provided in my life. I praise You. Amen.
